Clayton Clouse, 68, died Friday, May 5, 2017. Born August 11, 1948 in Glo, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Luther and Anna Daniels Clouse. Clayton was a retired United State Army veteran, serving from 1963 to 1972 with two deployments to Vietnam. He was a coin collector and baseball card collector, loved the countryside and farm life and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by three sisters, the late Judy Wallen, Princess Star and Phyllis Mitchell.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Patty Sue Hicks Clouse, three daughters, Jaime (Willie) Smith and Elizabeth (Kelly) Cole, both of Junction City, Mary Zabolski of Danville and a son, Clayton Clouse Jr. of Central City; a brother, Gordon Clouse of Paintsville, six grandchildren, Melissa Lamb, Alexander Zabolski, Brennan Hires, Allyson Rowe, Abigail Rowe and Matthew Smith and five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Dorton, Jacob Dorton, Jaidann Dorton, Jailyn Dorton and Kenzie Nicole Mitchell.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Stith Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Valentine will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Caswell-Saufley Post # 19. Pallbearers will be Willie Smith, Alexander Zabolski, Robert Mooney, Chris Rowe, Michael Mitchell, Kelly Cole and Austin Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Clouse Jr., Jimmy Darrell Combs, Matthew Smith, Jeremiah Dorton, Jacob Dorton and Brennan Hires. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home.
