Charlie Simpson, 92, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born in Lincoln County, KY on March 9, 1931 to the late James Simpson and Mae Saylor.
Charlie was a veteran in the United States Army. He retired from Rex Norde where he was a machinist and owner of Simpson Trucking. He attended First Church of God, Harrodsburg Road. Charlie enjoyed working in the garage and making rounds in Junction City. He would often relax while sitting on the front porch sitting and feeding hummingbirds. In addition to his parents, Charlie is predeceased by his wife, Marie Simpson as well as his brothers and sisters.
Surviving Charlie is his daughter, Joyce (Danny) Caldwell; grandchildren, Charlie (Adria) Caldwell and Ree (T.J.) Marksbury; great-grandchildren, Colt, Ryan, Wyatt and Aiden. Also surviving Charlie are his sister-in-law, Ann (George) Johnson; niece, Charonna (Lance) Cotton; and nephew, Johnny Wilson of whom he loved like daughters and son; brother-in-law, Billy (Mary Jane) Gatliff; soulmate, Doris Logsdon; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023, also at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with Rev. Mike Cox officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Caldwell, T.J. Marksbury, Danny Caldwell, Vance Curtsinger, Lance Cotton and Scott Johnson. Burial will be at Junction City Cemetery. Military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Caswell Saufley Post #18.
