Charles Ray Shearer, 78, died January 15, 2022, in New Albany, Indiana. Born December 13, 1943, in Lancaster, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Pete and Violet Shearer. Charles was a member of the United States Air Force and worked data processing at Kentucky Central, where he was vice president. He was a member of Lancaster Nazarene Church and Am-Vets Post #123. Charles loved to fish and enjoyed dirt track racing. Charles is predeceased by his wife Barbara Jane Olds of 41 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Anthony Charles Shearer (Yvonne), of Danville, and Gregory Allen Shearer (Lindsey), of Florida; three sisters, Brenda Vincent, Carolyn Wells, and Sadie Causey (Larry); two brothers, Paul Shearer (Jeanette) and David Shearer (Debbie); grandchildren, Jesse Horseman, Chad Shearer (Mandy), Brie Corlew (Jarrod), Levi Engle (Casie), Josh Huff and Shelby Rose (Payden); and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. Rev. Farris will officiate.
