Betty Irene Hillard Hargis, 79, died December 15, 2019 in Danville. Born June 3, 1940 in Danville, she is the daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Sadie Katherine Semonis Hillard. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church and attended Parksville Schools. She loved to yard sale and take walks. Betty was a giving person and trusted everyone completely. She enjoyed cleaning and made sure her home was super clean all the time.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Don Sprattlin) King of Danville; three sons, Danny (Sissy) Hargis of Moreland, Billy (DeAnna) Hargis of Danville and Bobby (Carol) Hargis of McKinney; eight grandchildren, Leeann (Zack) Mason, Felicia (Josh) Glass, April Hargis, Holly (Jeremy) McCowan, Katie (Larry) Lyons, Robert (Kim) Hargis, Teddy (Tea) Hargis and Jennifer Hargis; seventeen great-grandchildren, Caedmon, Carson, Colby, Payton, Collins, Brier, Kaitlyn (Joe), MiKayla, Harmony, Tahiry, Aubrey, Joseph, Carmyne, Kaydince, Evan, Phoenix and Ava ; two great-great grandchildren, Lilliana and Gabriella ; a sister, Mary Wanda (Bobby) Smith of Parksville and a brother, Donald Hillard of Lexington.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Tim Mathis will officiate. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Hargis, Teddy Hargis, Jeremy McCowan, Larry Lyons, Joseph Knies, Josh Glass and Zack Mason. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to The Alzheimer’s Association.
