Bertie Kirkpatrick, 77, of Danville, died Sunday, July 21, 2019. She was born in Lancaster on October 3, 1941 to the late Jessie and Mattie Cobb Carrier. Bertie worked as a dietitian at Garrard County Hospital. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sports, UK basketball, yard saling and Nascar. Bertie was of Baptist faith and attended Hustonville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Mike Kirkpatrick; a daughter, Mary Katheryn Huffman; four brothers, Leonard Carrier, Clay O’Neal Carrier, Harold Carrier, Jess Carrier Jr.; two sisters, Nancy Ray and Dorothy Grider.

She is survived by a son, Michael Huffman; a daughter, Melissa Stephens; three sisters, Elsie Broaddus, Betty Ann Edgington, Gladys Mae (Donnie) Ray; grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Andrew McGinnis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Wesley East, Bruce Edgington, Jerry Edgington, Randy Carrier, Donnie Ray, Jimmy Rousey, Ray Johnica, Kevin Wade and Chris Vance. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Ray, Donald Ray, Will East, Jerrid Wade, Luke Wade, Alex Barrett, Nathan Arnold, Michael Ryan Huffman, Erika Burnside and Ruth Ann Preston. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
