Agnes Lorene Middleton Whalen Johnson, 92, went home to the Lord Monday, December 31, 2018. She was born April 19, 1926 in Danville to James and Stella Franklin Middleton. Agnes served with her first husband Rev. Dale Whalen as Senior Pastor of several churches including First Church of God, Owingsville; First Church of God, Winchester; South Meridian Church of God, Anderson, IN; First Church of God, Morehead; First Church of God, Kingsport, TN; First Church of God, Phoenix, AZ; White Chapel Church of God, South Daytona, FL and Meridian Church of God, Indianapolis, IN. Both Pastor Whalen and Agnes served on state and national boards. She served many years in local, state and national Women of the Church of God. After the death of her husband Dale Whalen, she married John R. Johnson. They served as interim pastors of seven churches in South Central Kentucky. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband John R. Johnson and Riki D. Johnson.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Whalen Bentley of Montgomery, TX and Lisa Whalen (Walt) Morris of Noblesville, IN; her stepdaughters, Ginger Johnson (Danny) Dodge of Denver, Colorado and Deborah Johnson Graham of Oregon; her sons, Dr. Daniel L. (Kathy) Whalen of Danville and Mark (Karen) Whalen of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Pauline Sims of Danville; a brother, Gene Middleton of Lebanon, OH; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at First Church of God. Bro. Kevin Cummins will officiate.
