I just heard of Austin's death today and it's crushingly sad. I don't think he had any idea how much sweetness he radiated even to casual acquaintances like me, who only knew him to share a few words when we were out walking, both in town and out in the fields. He always reminded me of a young Walt Whitman. I wish I had known him better. Sending every comfort to the Williams family in the loss of their dear, dear son and brother.

My condolences and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Austin played such a special role in my life growing up and I will forever remember the times we shared as kids. Sending all of you my love and support.

Austin was such a kind man. I remember very clearly he was one of the first people I chatted with when AOL messenger was a thing! He was funny and charming, but in no way full of himself. I have so many fond memories of him and the times we shared. May his memory be a blessing.
