Elizabeth Lee Sharp Nichols died February 16, 2020 in Harrodsburg, KY. Betty was born November 18, 1924 in Los Angeles, CA and was a daughter of Ben Leavel and Genevieve Kaufman Sharp. She graduated from Needles High School in 1942, attended Occidental College in Los Angeles and graduated from Centre College in Danville, KY. She married Hudson McAfee Nichols in 1948. She earned her master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Betty taught at Perryville High School and had a long and distinguished career as an educator and guidance counselor at Goodlettsville High School in TN. Upon retirement, Betty moved back to McAfee, KY with her husband, Hudson, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, James Harrod Trust, Delta Kappa Gamma and New Providence Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her sister Barbara Sharp Reynierson, twin daughters Nancy Nichols (Rick) Kinkade and Cynthia Nichols Rosenberger; grandchildren, Charles Hudson (Erica) Rosenberger, Nathan Leavel (Heather) Rosenberger, Richard Nichols Kinkade and Elizabeth Kinkade (Michael) McKay and eight great grandchildren, Cole Hudson Rosenberger, Tripp Jacob Rosenberger, Haley Ann Rosenberger, Aubrey Faith Rosenberger, Evan Michael Rosenberger, twins Peyton Elizabeth McKay and Harper Kate McKay, and Bennett Hudson McKay.
