Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, January 17, 2020 at South Maple Street First Baptist Church in Somerset.
Burial: Danville Memorial Gardens.
Edith Fields Howard, 76, died January 12, 2020 in Lexington. Born October 26, 1943 in Versailles to the late James Howard, Sr. and Georgia Countee. Edith was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. She worked at Palm Beach Company and Bluegrass Ultra Transit Service. Her real love was counseling those who had DUI’s. She loved to read, work puzzles, and loved anything challenging. Peonies were her favorite flower. She loved her grandchildren and her church family at South Maple Street First Baptist Church in Somerset. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Jennie Doby and Rosemary Gooch.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Catherine (Larry) Paulin of Roanoke, VA. and Mari Lucinda Logan of Nashville, TN; two sons, Vincent Edward (Alice Hughes) Logan of Harrodsburg and Vandree Lamont Logan of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren, Vince Edward Logan, Janea Logan, Lawrence Paulin, Lauren Paulin, Adam Paulin, Dandree Lamont Logan and Cameron Diego Logan; two step-grandchildren, Phillip Hughes and Christy Boni; eight great-grandchildren, Lindsey Grace, Macee, Olivia Faith, Nicholas Dante, Adalyn Grace, Ava Grey, Elijah and Zaine; and one brother, James Howard, Jr. of Baltimore, MD.
The Funeral Service will be 11 am, Friday, January 17, 2020 at South Maple Street First Baptist Church in Somerset. Pastor Yusef Franklin will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Adam Paulin, Lawrence Paulin, James Wilkerson, John Routt, Dandree Logan and Cameron Logan. Honorary pallbearers will be Vince Logan, Bro. George Martinez, Bro. Mitch Gaines, Kevin Jones, Cecil Masterson, Jackie Marshall Gooch and Vince Logan. Visitation will be 5 pm – 8 pm, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Memorial donations are suggested to South Maple Street First Baptist Church (309 Maple St. – PO Box 774 Somerset, KY 42502) or Markey Cancer Center.
