Irene was such a wonderful person. She was a part of the Saturday Morning breakfast club and was always so sweet! I will miss her and her best friend, Rose. There aren't many people in this world as good as she was. I will miss driving past her house and her waving at me. Love you Irene! Rori Tyler

Irene was absolutely one of the nicest women I have ever known. When I moved to the Danville area about 24 years ago I met her at the Boyle County Genealogical Association and we became friends. In fact, she and I tried for years to connect her husband Ed's Crabtree line to my husband's line but just could not seem to get it done. She was so encouraging to me over the years and I loved her as a Christian friend and fellow history lover. She had many heartbreaks over the years, but she always handled them well and was a blessing to be around. I am very sorry for the loss to your family and also the great loss to Boyle County and its entire surrounding community. God bless you all.

Irene was a humble servant of God and Others, as Christ had taught. A faithful Christian, loving and supporting wife, Mother and grandmother, she set the example for us all. We will miss her quiet strength and kind soul.

When the state demolished the Viaduct and rebuilt it, I learned that her husband had designed the bridge. So I asked the highway dept. If she could be the first to drive across the new viaduct, She was thrilled

Irene was a special lady at LABC. Always interesting to talk to & interested in everything. She loved cooking (& was a great cook) for our monthly Fun Living Hearts group. She shared her Mexican Chicken Spaghetti recipe with me, which is delicious & I will treasure as it is in her hand writing.
